Abstract

This work studies eco-organizations, which, not being identified as a separate group, deprives them of the opportunity to relate to their experience, and compelling them to adapt to and utilize general experience. The paper makes the specificity of eco-organizations visible for further use by researchers, leaders of eco-organizations, business owners, and individuals.

The paper shows the intersection of organizational psychology and environmentalism using organizational culture as a tool for describing and studying eco-organizations. Organizational culture shows the specificity and content of these organizations from the inside, with an emphasis on behavior. Qualitative and quantitative research methods are proposed, considering their applicability to eco-organizations. Special attention is given to the terms describing aspects of environmentalism. The terms “pro-environmental behavior” and “environmental organizational culture” are explained in detail. The work concludes with two proposed definitions of eco-organizations: one based on necessity criteria and the other on sufficiency criteria.
