Call for Papers for the Special Issue Related to Transport!
Submission is open
‘Urban Studies and Practices’ is an international peer-reviewed academic journal issued by Vysokovsky Graduate School of Urbanism of the HSE University. The journal is indexed in the RISC (Russian Index of Science Citation).
The articles, reviews, and translations of academic papers published in our journal are devoted to the theory and practices of urbanism and analyse various aspects of urban development. In the new issue we aim to fill in the gap in the field of transportation studies.
In the past 50 years transport has been traditionally considered through the prism of rigorous computational research, and any proposal was expected to be backed by complicated formulae. Today the idea of such approach becomes questionable. More and more often transportation-related agenda becomes subject of social studies.
In the coming issue we are going to look for perspective intersections between the technocratic approach to transport and the expansion of social sciences. The ‘Urban Studies and Practices’ journal is an appropriate platform to investigate new research optics from a wide range of study fields. And the city is a perfect place to demonstrate existing controversies, possible convergences between research directions, and unexpected methodological approaches.
We will be pleased to cooperate with experts and scholars in mathematical theory of traffic flow, transport engineering, urban planning, transportation planning, urban economics, geography, sociology, anthropology, new city technologies and urban data analysis.
We publish original research papers both in Russian and English. Articles may include any visual materials i.e. photos, graphs, maps, formulae etc. We accept research articles under 9 000 words and reviews up to 3 000 words.
Please send your materials to our email address firstname.lastname@example.org and put ‘Article’ (‘Review’) in the header of the email.
